3. Information on This Website Is Not Legal Advice
Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice, nor does it create a solicitor-client relationship. The information provided is general in nature and may not reflect recent changes in Thai law. It should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal advice tailored to your particular circumstances.
If you have a specific legal question about an estate, succession dispute, or related matter, we encourage you to contact us directly so that we may discuss your situation properly. An initial conversation carries no commitment on either side.
4. Client Engagement
A formal solicitor-client relationship between you and Asoka Counsel is established only upon execution of a written engagement letter specifying the scope of work, the fee arrangement, and the applicable terms of representation. Submitting a contact form or calling our chambers does not constitute a formal engagement.
We reserve the right to decline to act in any matter, for any reason, without being required to give reasons. We are subject to the professional rules of the Lawyers Council of Thailand, and we will not accept instructions that conflict with those rules or our professional obligations.
In matters involving potential conflicts of interest, we will conduct a conflict-of-interest check before proceeding. If we are unable to act, we will inform you promptly so that you may seek advice elsewhere without delay.
5. Fees and Billing
The fees described on this website represent our standard published rates for the services described. They are set out for informational purposes and are subject to confirmation in each engagement letter.
- Fees are stated in Thai Baht (THB) and are exclusive of any applicable taxes, court fees, government charges, or disbursements, which will be charged in addition unless otherwise agreed in writing
- For complex or multi-phase matters, fees may vary from published rates; this will be communicated clearly before any engagement commences
- Payment terms, invoicing schedule, and methods of payment will be set out in the engagement letter
- We reserve the right to require an advance payment before commencing work on a matter
6. Confidentiality
We treat all information shared with us in the course of a client engagement or initial enquiry with strict confidentiality, consistent with our professional obligations under Thai law and the rules of the Lawyers Council of Thailand.
Confidentiality does not apply to information that is already in the public domain, that we are required by law or court order to disclose, or that you have expressly authorised us to share. Please see our Privacy Policy for further information on how personal data is handled.

To the extent permitted by Thai law, Asoka Counsel's liability for any claim arising out of the use of this website or its content is limited to the amount paid to us in fees in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from reliance on website content.
This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Thai law.
For claims arising from formal legal engagements, the liability terms in the engagement letter will apply.
